The Stronger Life Project 001: A New Year, A New Opportunity
Listen to this podcast with Koko FitClub Co-Founder, Mary Obana, here.

Here we are, with a New Year upon us. A great beginning, a fresh start!

It’s the time to look forward, the opportunity to set goals and new commitments to ourselves — whether it relates to our health, our careers, our relationships or our families. Where will you put your energy this year? How will you choose to spend your time?

The underlying objective for setting personal goals each new year?  Building toward a better life… to being better.  To being happier. To being stronger.

In the end, that’s what we all want isn’t it?  To live the strongest life we can; to live life on our terms.

And the greatest thing is, it is in our control to do just that. Every day we can get stronger – physically, mentally, In our relationships, in the way we impact the world.  Even when life throws us a curveball, how we choose to face it makes all the difference.

I cherish receiving stories of inspiration from men and women who are changing their lives, taking control of their health and reshaping their bodies with Koko. I’d like to share one from Koko FitClub member, David. His story has stuck in my mind since receiving it a few months ago, and I truly admire David’s outlook:

“Last September I was diagnosed with MS. I decided not to take the diagnosis lying down and instead have used the Koko platform to fight this disease.

I feel that the stronger I am physically, the less impact the symptoms can have.

Almost a year and 1.4M pounds lifted later, my strength has improved nearly 60%, my Q score has jumped 40 points and I feel “Koko Strong”.

My wife and I enjoy our Saturday “date” workouts where we compete to see who is leading the most ‘Perfect Workouts’ competition. I don’t know what we would do without Koko in our lives, it has really been a game changer. I feel so much better prepared for whatever the next chapter might bring. Thank you for making a difference.”

What an inspiration!

You see, David’s story beautifully illustrates what all of us really want: the desire to live our strongest life. At Koko, we hope that we can help everyone to do just that — through fitness, nutrition, wellness and a healthy mindset.

To that end, this month we are kicking off a theme that is the embodiment of our mission here at Koko:  The Stronger Life Project.

We will be bringing to you interviews, podcasts, blog posts on these very topics that can help us all live a stronger life. Life can present a great many challenges, whether it’s fighting disease, or age, or time. David reminds us that we have a choice.  We have the opportunity to live life on our terms and, as he so beautifully articulated, “to not take life lying down”.

So as we welcome the New Year, may it be filled with positive energy, spending your time on the things that are truly most important… taking life by the horns… a life that is made stronger every day!

I wish you and yours a joyful, healthy 2017… lived on your terms.

Happy New Year!
