Sunday, May 9th, is Mother’s Day. Do you have plans in place to pamper Mom? I hope so. We work hard!
Every mom is different, but one thing we all seem to have in common is our tendency to put everyone else’s needs first. After we have taken care of our kids, spouses, parents and jobs, we rarely have time left over for ourselves. Obviously this isn’t a healthy way to live, and we know better, but the reality is there is only so much time in the day. So, it’s no coincidence that Mother’s Day also kicks off National Women’s Health Week. The goal of NWHW is to empower women to make their health and fitness a top priority. The theme for this year is “It’s Your Time.” How apropos!
The idea for Koko came after I had my son. I wanted to get back into shape, but as a new mom, I no longer had the luxury of spending hours at the gym every week. I’m not alone! Koko has done extensive research into the reasons people don’t exercise as much as they should. The number one roadblock is, you guessed it, time. We knew that if we created an effective program that was also super time-efficient, one that fit into the reality of our busy lives, it would help a lot of people finally reach their fitness goals. Those people include a lot of moms who have difficulty finding time for themselves.
So all you moms in Koko Nation, give yourself a Mother’s Day gift. Take National Women’s Health Week to heart and make your health a priority. The 30 minutes it takes to exercise in peace at Koko FitClub isn’t an extravagant amount of time, so you can work it in and not feel guilty. It’s your time, so enjoy it!
Happy Mother’s Day!
