Koko FitClub is the New Year’s Fitness Resolution You’ll Keep For Life

As 2011 fast approaches, we are all being bombarded with messages about New Year’s resolutions. Health and weight loss play prominently, much of that being directed at us from the fitness industry. Here at Koko FitClub, we have nothing against New Year’s resolutions to be healthier and in shape, in fact it is our heart felt wish that you to resolve to be a healthier you in the New Year. The difference between us and the “fitness industry” is that we are realists. A resolution alone isn’t enough and the same old exercise gimmicks are going to fall flat just like they did last year. We learned from personal experience and from talking to thousands of people just like you during the development of the Koko Smartrainer, that for an exercise program to work it has to be one that you can stick to.
In essence, Koko was born to be the one fitness resolution you’ll keep not just during January, February and March, but for life.
At Koko, we know you have a life. 80% of adults will never be inclined to spend an hour and a half a day at the gym, no matter how great the benefits. You have other priorities more demanding of your time, energy and intellect. So, unless the nasty resolution-killers of confusion, boredom and lack of time are removed from the equation, 80% of well-intentioned fitness resolution makers wont make it past late winter. Here is how Koko sets you up for resolution success:
Time: It’s precious and it feels like we never have enough. So, Koko designed the Koko Smartrainer, an incredibly effective strength workout that takes 30 minutes. And, Koko Cardio gives you the aerobic benefits of a typical 30 minute cardio work out in just 15. If you have time for both, you can be in and out of Koko FitClub in under an hour having completed a serious workout.
Confusion: Even for those of us who are pretty adept at finding our way around a gym, confusion about the best use of our exercise time can stop us in our tracks. No one wants to wander around aimlessly wondering what to do next. (Didn’t we just determine we don’t have time for that nonsense?) A personal trainer can solve this problem, but who has the money? Each Koko Smartraining program is designed by Koko Cheif Fitness Officer Michael Wood, a word-class personal trainer and exercise physiologist. Koko technology customizes the programs to your specific needs and ability. Koko Cardio programs are guided by Wood, who ensures that you work out at an intensity level that will provide maximum aerobic benefit.
Boredom: No one wants to feel like a hamster on the treadmill, on the road to nowhere day in and day out. Nor can we stomach the same strength routine over and over. *YAWN* It’s boring, and worse, its ineffective! Koko programs are interactive and engaging and, go figure, different every time! You are also rewarded with feedback that updates you on your progress. It is hard to be bored when there is so much to keep you motivated!
So at Koko, we figured out the things that prevented you from successfully keeping your New Year’s fitness resolutions and removed them from the picture. Because, the simple truth is that the exercise regimen you can make a habit of for the long haul is the most effective exercise regimen for you. We are happy you have made Koko a lifestyle choice. Here’s to a healthy, happy Koko year in 2011!

Koko FitClub Holiday Message from Mary Obana

Season’s Greetings  Koko Nation,
It’s hard to believe that we are already at the end of 2010.   Time passes so quickly!
During the holidays, I always like to reflect on the year, and what a year it has been.  I think about all the members I have met… and all the members who have shared their personal stories.  With each inspiring post, email, letter and conversation, I beam with pride – you have worked to change your health and improve the quality of your lives and accomplished so much.  You are why my husband Mike Lannon and I started this amazing journey and why your club owners and staff do what they do – to help people be their healthiest, strongest selves…  to put our energies to something that makes a difference.  Today, Koko has reached 16 states and provinces in the US and Canada and our work has only just begun.  We know that Koko can help the millions upon millions of people who struggle with exercise – because they don’t have time, or don’t know what to do… or don’t feel supported in their quest to be healthier.  We are humbled with each story and feel honored to be sharing this amazing journey with you.
So to you and yours this holiday season, I wish you a warm and wonderful celebration and an even happier and healthier 2011!
With warmest personal regards,

Koko FitClub Friday FitForum with Michael Wood

Hello Koko Nation,

Welcome to the first Koko FitClub Friday FitForum where I answer Smartraining and fitness questions from YOU.

This week I received a great, and common, question from Meagan from Koko FitClub Pembroke and you can see my response in the video below:

Hi Michael,
I joined Koko FitClub about 4 and a half weeks ago and really love it. I’ve gone around 20 times over the past month or so, averaging 4 or 5 times a week. When I’m there I do one Smartrainer session and at least one cardio session, but usually two. I definitely feel great and can notice improvements, but I’m gaining weight. I’ve actually gained 3 lbs since I started. I know that muscle weighs more than fat, but I still eventually want to lose body weight to get closer to my “ideal” weight for health reasons. Is this just part of the strength building cycle?
Thank you!
Meagan

Keep your Koko Smartraining, health and fitness questions coming in the comment section. I will answer them in future Koko FitClub FitForum Fridays.

Here’s how it works: Between now and Wednesday at noon, visit this post on the blog and ask your question in the reply section, along with your first name and club.  (Please note: I won’t see your questions if you post them as facebook comments, so click on the blog link.)

I will pick one or two to answer on film and post on Friday.
